Greetings, this is Shadow Arena.    

  

Here are the updates made to Shadow Arena during the maintenance on July 2 (Thu).

■ New Hero - Lahn 

- Lahn, a new Hero, has been added.  

  > Lahn wields the Crescent Pendulum, a weapon connected to a blade by a long chain, to drag her foes in and keep them where she wants them.

- Added Titles for achieving Lahn’s Mastery levels.

Lahn at her core isn’t a fast-type of Hero. She wields the Crescent Pendulum, a weapon connected to a blade by a long chain, that lets her have an upper hand against closer-ranged Heroes. To briefly describe her inherent skills’ characteristics, she can hold foes with her Crescent Pendulum to drag them in or close the gap, and you can hold down RMB to easily use her combo.    

 

■ Ancient Weapons Showdown Mode 

- Added a Ancient Weapon Showdown mode. 

  > You can select “Ancient Weapons Showdown” mode from Custom mode > Game mode. 

 - In this mode, you will start with Laytenn's Power Core and Puturum's Power Core.  

  > Using Laytenn's Power Core will summon the Ancient Weapon Laytenn (Cooldown: 3 min) 

  > Using Puturum’s Power Core will consume the item and summon the Ancient Weapon Puturum. (Usable only once per match) 

 

- Ancient Weapons: Differences compared to other modes 

* Laytenn  

  > All actions are slightly faster, and you can perform the next action more easily.  

  > Reduced the stamina consumed by using skills.  

  > HP: 20000 

  > The laser can be fired while moving, but the laser hit area is narrower.  

  > The laser will not go through when it hits the target.  

   > All attacks will disarm defensive stance and inflict Blowback. 

   > A hit animation will be displayed when hit by a Blowback attack. 

 

* Puturum 

  > The summoning animations for Puturm are faster.  

  > Reduced the stamina consumed by using skills.  

  > HP: 20000 

  > Puturum’s HP will automatically decrease by 700 every 3 seconds and Puturum will be destroyed when its HP reaches 0.  

  > All attacks will disarm defensive stance and inflict Blowback.   

  > A hit animation will be displayed when hit by a Blowback attack. 

While Custom mode has similar basic rules as Solo mode, we’ve added a new mode to give you a fresh experience. While similar in appearance to the Laytenn you see in Solo mode, we’ve made a lot changes such as to control feel, HP, stamina, etc., so you can have more fun fighting as Laytenns. We’ll continue to add new modes to give you different experiences, and very soon, we plan to introduce King of the Hill mode.  

 

■ Cheer Feature 

- Added the Cheer feature.  

  > The Cheer button will appear when you are spectating another player after dying in the arena.  

  > You will get 2 silver if the player you are cheering for defeats another player or AI Bot.  

  > You will get additional silver depending on the number of players defeated if the player you are spectating is the winner of the match.  

  > There will be a sparkling visual effect depending on the number of players cheering the Hero being played. (Will not be visible to other players.) 

We hope to continue to add ways for you to find some enjoyment in game beyond just actively playing.  

 

■ Heroes 

- Fixed skills to no longer be usable between the time before the cooldown is applied and immediately after the skill is used, 

- Changed the Knockdown effect time of Sprinting Jump Attacks from 1.1 seconds to 0.7 seconds.  

- Fixed an issue where the skill descriptions incorrectly stated the additional damage while knocked over as 1.5 times instead of 1.2 times.  

- Fixed an issue where your Hero would automatically turn towards the enemy upon using a sprint attack or jump attack.   

- Fixed an issue where your Hero would not automatically resurrect even if all players were dead when requesting a duel with an AI Bot in Team mode.   

- Reduced the sound volume of casting all Ultimate Level skills for the caster.  

Although the Sprinting Jump Attack does not have a cooldown, it still quite powerful and even inflicts a CC. That’s why we’ve reduced the Knockdown time a bit more to lower the possibility of being able to drag out the combos that include it.   

   

- Basic Attack (LMB): Increased the damage by 5% 

- Fallen Flower (RMB): Changed to be able to immediately perform a skill or kick during the skill’s dash.  

- Fixed moving quickly while laying down to be the same as other Heroes by consuming stamina. 

Since Basic Attacks no longer interrupt each other, this lowered importance of Fallen Flower and Basic Attacks for basic attack focused Yeonhwa. As a result, we’ve slightly increased the damage of her Basic Attacks and made strengthened her combo potential with Fallen Flower.   

 

- Sun of Destruction (4): Increased the knockdown time from 0.7 seconds to 0.9 seconds.  

- Fixed moving quickly while laying down to be the same as other Heroes by consuming stamina. 

- Shadow Explosion (3): Fixed an issue where the sound effect of the skill’s Ultimate Level would sometimes not be heard by the player being hit by the skill. 

 As we’ve lowered the CC time of sprinting jump attacks, we’ve slightly raised the CC time of Sun of Destruction again.  

 

- Fixed an issue where the fall animation would sometimes occur when trying to jump attack causing you to be unable to attack.   

- Reduced the jump attack range to match the visual effect.  

- Rock Smash (2): Changed the lifting and slamming motion after the grab to be a bit faster.   

-  Sausan’s Tremble (4): Changed to allow you to use RMB immediately after using the skill.  

- Gate Breaker (1): Changed the skill’s cooldowns as follows.  

  > Level 1: Same as before (14 sec.) 

  > Level 2: 12 sec. → 13 sec. 

  > Level 3, Ultimate Level: 10 sec. → 12 sec. 

- Changed the stamina consumed by jumping again after a sprint jump from 10% to 20%.  

-  Bestial Howl (4): Fixed an issue where the sound effect of the skill’s Ultimate Level would sometimes not be heard by the player being hit by the skill. 

- Fixed moving quickly while laying down to be the same as other Heroes by consuming stamina. 

Recently, we’ve had several patches to block infinite combos, but while Shultz’s combo isn’t simply an infinite one, his combos can still be too long, and the ability to use Gate Breaker (1) with his jump movements could be too overwhelming. As a result, we’ve increased the cooldowns of Gate Breaker (1) and made it harder for him to jump continuously be increasing the stamina consumed.   

 

- Thunder Rip (3): Adjusted the skill as follows.  

  > Fixed the Super Armor visual effect not matching the actual time the Super Armor effect was active.  

  > Fixed the movement distance in the skill description to match the actual effect.   

  > Changed for Haru’s movement to be slower immediately after jump, but faster when she is coming down for her stab.  

  > Increased the jump movement distance from 6.5M to 8M.  

  > Fixed an issue where you could use a different skill immediately after using Thunder Rip.  

- Fixed moving quickly while laying down to be the same as other Heroes by consuming stamina. 

- Uproot (2): Fixed an issue where the sound effect of the skill’s Ultimate Level would sometimes not be heard by the player being hit by the skill. 

Similar to the previous patch, we made more adjustments so that you can assuredly combo the additional strike of Uproot (2) and Thunder Rip (3). 

 

- Fixed the HP recovery of Kamasylve Tree to match the skill description.   

  > Level 1: Recover 100 HP per tick (Before 80) 

  > Level 2: Recover 200 HP per tick (Before 190) 

  > Level 3, Ultimate Level: Recover 342 HP per tick (Before 325) 

- Fixed an issue where the camera would still shake for Basic Attacks even if Camera Effects were turned off in the game settings.  

 

- Explosive Trap (4): Increased the damage as follows.  

  > Level 1: 800 → 1000 

  > Level 2 : 1500 → 1700 

  > Level 3, Ultimate Level: 2200 → 2500 

- Twin Fairy Arrow (3): Fixed an issue where the sound effect of the skill’s Ultimate Level would sometimes not be hearable by the player being hit by the skill. 

With her ranged attacks and evasive playstyle, Orwen is powerful in 1v1 situation. However, because of such a playstyle, she suffers from being severely countered by other Heroes when the Dark Fog has closed in. Thus, we’ve left her ranged abilities untouched and increased her Explosive Trap damage again, so she can have more breathing room when focused.   

 

- Gatekeeper (RMB): Fixed an issue where only the debuff was inflicted without the damage depending on the distance the skill was used from.  

 

- Stamina will now recover when using Basic Attacks while staying in place.  

- Asura Tread (RMB): Adjusted the skill as follow.  

  > Reduced the dash distance by 25%.  

  > Adjusted the movement speed buff upon casting the skill from 30% to 35%.  

- Helix Cannon (1): Adjusted the cooldowns as follows.  

  > Level 1: 12 sec. 

  > Level 2: 10 sec. 

  > Level 3, Ultimate Level: 8 sec.  

- Sleeve Tangler (2): Adjusted the skill as follows.  

  > Increased the damage of the 2nd and 3rd hit when enhanced by Golden Gate (4) 

   - Level 1,2, and 3: 20% 

   - Ultimate Level: 27%  

  > Adjusted the 2nd and 3rd hit (Ultimate) to no longer allow you to perform another skill immediately after.  

- Thunder Breaker (3): Adjusted the skill as follows.  

  > Adjusted the cooldowns as follows.  

# Level 1: 17 sec. 

# Level 2: 15 sec. 

# Level 3, Ultimate Level: 13 sec. 

  > Reduced the damage by 17.5%.  

  > Reduced the knockdown time of the 1st hit from 1.6 seconds to 0.9 seconds.  

  > Reduced attack range of the 2nd and 3rd hit by 25%.  

  > Fixed an issue where the sound effect could not be heard when using the Ultimate Level of Thunder Breaker (3) after Golden Gate (4).  

- Sleeve Tangler (2): Fixed an issue where the Ultimate Level effect was not applied to the final hit. 

- Thunder Breaker (3), Golden Gate (4): Fixed an issue where the sound effect of the skill’s Ultimate Level would sometimes not be heard by the player being hit by the skill. 

Due to the risk of introducing an infinite combo, Badal is in a difficult spot for us to make adjustments. Nevertheless, we’ve adjusted his overall cooldown times and made improvements for some parts that might’ve felt frustrating, such as adjusting his basic attacks when staying in place to allow stamina recovery. While you can’t keep up a combo as long as before with this update, we’ve changed them to do more damage in a shorter period of time.   

 

- Fixed an issue where obtaining a Yellow-grade of better equipment in Endurance Stance caused Venslar to switch to Courage Stance during the Cheer animation.  

- Fixed an issue where using a sprint jump in Endurance Stance sporadically switched Venslar to Courage Stance.  

- Reduced the damage of Basic Attack – Endurance Stance by 20% and the range from 300 to 230.   

- Reduced the damage of Jump Attack – Courage Stance by 20% and the range from 350 to 280.    

- Changed the time before Venslar could perform another action after a Jump Attack – Courage Stance to be slower by 0.2 seconds.  

- Radiant Pursuit – Courage Stance (2): Adjusted the skill as follows.  

  > Reduced the damage by 9%.  

  > Fixed an issue where the hit sound effect would sometimes not be hearable.  

  > Fixed an issue where the hit sound effect could be hearable twice at certain distances.  

- Fixed an issue where using Switch Stance (RMB) during a Social Action would only switch Venslar to Courage Stance.  

- Blade of Retribution - Courage Stance (1): Fixed the skill to inflict the Blowback effect when hitting an AI Bot.    

In the last update we patched Venslar’s Radiant Pursuit to be much slower, but the skill ended up being still too difficult to dodge when raised to level 3, so we’ve lowered the damage a bit more. Additionally, the playstyle of leading in with her Basic Attack – Endurance Stance was too powerful even after her attacks, so we’ve lowered the damage and range of it.    

 

■ Ancient Weapon 

- Reduced the HP of Laytenn and Puturum.  

  > Laytenn: 20000 → 17000 

  > Puturum: 28000 → 24000 

 - Added the description of Low-speed Flight (S) to the Puturum control guide.  

- Fixed getting into an Ancient Weapon to no longer put you in an invincible state.  

Due the quality-of-life improvements to Laytenn and Puturum, it has become harder to dodge the attacks of the Ancient Weapons as a Hero. So, we’ve lowered the HP of both Laytenn and Puturum, lowering the time Heroes need to avoid the Ancient Weapons for.  

 

■ Hungry Black Spirit 

- Fixed the Hungry Black Spirits to immediately spawn if the buff from defeating a Mountain Stoneback Crab disappears while in the Dark Fog.  

- Fixed an issue where the Hungry Black Spirit’s visual and sound effects would be displayed even if a Hero left the Dark Fog within 15 seconds.  

 

 

■ AI 

- Reduced the AP of the AI Bots that appear in the Level 1 difficulty of AI matches from 300 to 200.  

- Changed AI Bots in AI matches to use Dark Shift (Q) or Blink (E) in dangerous situations.  

- Fine-tuned debuffs for AI Bots.  

  > AI Bots will now be blown back a similar range as normal Heroes when inflicted by the Blowback effect.  

  > AI bots will now get up at a similar amount of time after being inflicted with the Knockdown or Float effect.   

- Fixed the weapon appearance of AI Bots to match normal Heroes.  

- Fixed AI Bots to show a different debuff motion per Hero.  

- Fixed an issue where AI Bots walked awkwardly.  

- Fixed an issue where the Shultz AI Bot would suddenly become smaller when moving.  

- Fixed the appearance of the Herawen Specter to appear normally in Sparring Grounds.   

- Fixed the appearance of AI Bots to match the appearance of normal Heroes.  

- Fixed AI Bots to follow the same rules as normal Heroes for Back Attacks and Down Attacks.   

- Fixed the Hero name that is displayed for AI Bots to include a number.  

- Added the Network Delay UI to appear on the right-side of an AI Bot’s HP gauge when you hit them.  

  

■ UI  

- Added a basic skill combo guide for each Hero to appear during combat.  

- Added a UI to show the average tier of the room’s players on the upper-left corner of the screen when the match starts.   

  > The UI area where the average tier of player is shown will include the text “Avg. Tier” along with the Tier symbol.   

 

  

■ Fixes and Improvements 

- Fixed an issue where the Jump Gate icon sproadically was not displayed in the Minimap or World Map.  

- The Hero Lahn has been set as the basic selection upon first login.   

- Fixed Voice Chat in AI matches to stay maintained even if the players become far apart when the match starts.  

- A message will now appear when purchasing a product from the Lobby Shop to let you go directly to the Shop Storage.  

  > Press the button in this message to view the product you purchased.  

- Fixed an issue where the previous report’s reason would remain when using the Report feature.  

- Changed the “Exit Game” text in the match results UI to “Match End”.  

- Improved the Hero Selection to clearly display which enhancement skills are not selected.  

- Changed the skill guide button text to “Skill & Combo Guide”.  

- Changed the way the rankings were displayed in the ranking UI after you died or the match ended to be more to right than before except for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.  

- Fixed an issue where some of the text in control guide that appeared when riding Laytenn and Puturum was displayed in the Korean language.
