Here are the updates made to Shadow Arena during the maintenance on September 16 (Thu).

■ Major Fixes and Improvements 

 

- [SoloRemoved the skill Barrier (V). 

Increased Vision Range from 15m to 30m. 

Removed the Vision Range increase effect from the Dark Nebula’s buff. 

-Improved the situation where normal monsters would wait while trapped in a terrain.  

[Dev Note]

The barrier was added so that players could catch fleeing enemies, reduce intrusion variables, and turn 1:1 battles into proactive situations. However, it was removed because its use had strayed from its intended purpose, and it was primarily used for survival as well as a variety of other issues arising from the creation of artificial barriers. 
 
The fog vision was added with the goal of allowing players to strategically use items and objects by limiting basic information. But, the basic fog vision range was too narrow which added aspects of frustration to the play as well as ranged attacks being too excessive, making it hard for players to respond. Therefore, the range has been doubled so that all fields of view within the combat range is visible and so that the basic field of view itself is wide allowing players to respond to ranged attacks better than before. 

 

Increased the number of Tokens obtained upon defeating a Hero from 300 to 500.  

Increased the ratio of kill points to tier points to the following, 

  > (Before): +1.5 points per 1 kill 

  → (Now): +5 points per 1 kill (Maximum: 20 points) 

  > [Solo] However, as before, kill points can only be obtained from kills that occur after the grace period. 

[Dev Note]
Currently, it was possible to grow by purchasing items with the tokens obtained from farming without getting into combat until the end of the game. On the other hand, there was little incentive for scoring kills even though defeating other heroes also came with the possibility of being eliminated. Because of that, the main strategy was to prioritize farming rather than proactively engaging in combat.

  

Therefore, we slightly increased the amount of tokens obtained from defeating heroes and increased the benefits that are earned from kills which will now have bigger effect on tier points. If you have 1-2 or more kills, 

less tier points will be deducted even if you get eliminated in the early stage of the game. We believe that this will reduce the burden of engaging in combat compared to before.

 

In the future, we plan to decrease the number of monsters overall and at the same time decrease the burden of relying on gears for growth. With these changes, the direction we are aiming for is to make it easier for players to obtain necessary items and allow them engage in battle over objects more easily. We hope you look forward to these changes.

  

■ Hero

Increased the height of jumpforward jump, and back jump by 15%. 

  > The sprint jump remains unchanged. 

 

Increased the rolling speed after Sprint Jump Attack by 25%. 

After Sprint dash attackit is now possible to perform another action without rolling in 0.476 seconds (Previous rolling motion: 0.648 seconds).

[Dev Note]

The rolling motion after using a sprint-related special attack was intended to increase the risk of the attack and limit its use as a movement skill. However, the rolling motion was performed even when it was used as a "basic motion" rather than as an attack, resulting in frustration. As a result, we have eliminated or improved the rolling motion so it is performed at a more natural speed. 

 

| Black Spirit Skill 

- [KickIncreased the cooldown time from 30 seconds to 40 seconds. 

 

 

 

Fixed an issue where the Shield of Heidel (RMB) could not be used when holding the Shift key while sprinting. 

 

| Formation Break B (R)  

- Increased the transition to another action after using skill by 0.2 sec.  

 

 

 

| Sausan's Tremble (RMB) 

Increased the transition time into another action after using skill by 0.5 sec.  

  

| Gate Breaker A (Q) 

Fixed the issue where the skill would not be immediately cast in the direction of the character 

  

 

 

| Thunder Rip (RMB) 
Increased damage by approximately 19%.  

 

| Heart Stab A (Q) 
Increased damage by approximately 13%. 

 

| Heart Stab B (Q) 
Increased damage by approximately 10.6%.  

  

 

 

Removed the 'Base AP enhancement effect’ text from the skill description.  

  

| Kamasylve Tree A (R) 

- Removed the AP reduction debuff effect for enemies near the tree. 

 

 

 

 

- Decreased the basic attack's last hit damage by 50%. 

  > (Before): Deals 4 times the basic attack damage 

  → (Now): Deals 2 times the basic attack damage 

 

Increased the basic attack damage by approximately 17%.  

  

| Twin Fairy Arrow A (Q) 

Decreased applied fixed damage from 300 to 200.  

 

| Arrow Storm A (E) 

- Increased cooldown from 10 sec to 13 sec.

[Dev Note]

 Although it is true that Orwen must be able to inflict high damage from a distance as a hero who specializes in ranged attacks, we felt that her survivability skill was overly high due to her high fixed damage and evasion ability. As a result, we reduced the fixed damage, but high damage can still be obtained by purchasing offensive items, and we increased the cooldown of Arrow Storm (E) to decrease her survivability.

 

 

Fixed the issue where the damaging motion of the last hit was not in sync when using enhanced Asura Tread while Golden Gate is activated. 

 

| Helix Cannon (RMB) 

Decreased the maximum damage of Helix Cannon while Golden Gate B skill is activated by 20%.

[Dev Note]

Helix Cannon was intended to match the effectiveness of Asura Thread which is the reason for its high set damage. However, we found that the damage was too high as a ranged attack to keep opponents in check, especially given the current situation where the overall damage has been increased. As a result, we have decreased the damage.

 

 

| Iron Pulverizer (RMB) 

Improved the camera effect to be more intense upon landing successful additional hits. 

  

 

 

| Switch Stance (RMB) 

- Changed so that Patience Stance will now be maintained even if the Mysterious Kettle item is used while in that stance. 

Changed so that Patience Stance will now be maintained even if the Stun Trap and Sandwich items are used while in the stance.  

 

| Sacred Barrier A (Patience Stance Q) 
- Decreased the HP of Sacred Barrier from 15000 to 8000.  

 

| Breath of Elion B (Patience Stance E 

- Buff effects have been changed to the following. 
> Before: AP +300 for 7 sec, DP –300 for 7 sec, Attack Speed +20% for 7 sec 
> Now: AP +200 for 5 sec, DP -200 for 8 sec, Attack Speed +10% for 7 sec 

 

| Heavenly Descent A (Courage Stance R) 

- Increased cooldown from 23 sec to 25 sec.  
- Changed so cooldown is decreased by 5 seconds when failing to target skill. (Before: -8 sec) 
- Added an animation of the that shows the "Celestial Sword projectile" flying upon casting skill. 
- Decreased attack range from 30m to 15m.  
- Increased the time upon casting skill to performing an attack from 0.37 sec to 0.83 sec.  

 

| Judgment of Light A (Patience Stance R 
- Increased cooldown from 23 sec to 25 sec.  
Changed so cooldown is decreased by 5 sec when failing to target skill. (Before: 8 sec) 

 

| Heavenly Descent B (Courage Stance R) 
- Increased damage by approximately 21%.

[Dev Note] 
The increased damage from Breath of Elion B was excessively high so its damage was slightly reduced, but the increased duration of the reduced DP effect heightens the risk associated with using the skill. Furthermore, in the case of Heavenly Descent A, the skill could be used from a long distance to instantly preemptively attack opponents, making it somewhat unfair from their point of view. As a result, we reduced the attack's range and added a short casting motion, allowing players to better mitigate the attack. 

 

   

| Dragon Impaler (RMB) 

- Decreased the duration time of Blowback from 1.5 sec to 0.9 sec.  

 

 

 

| Reload (RMB) 
Increased basic attack damage by approximately 16%.  

 

| Charged Shot A (Q) 

- Decreased the transition time into another motion after firing by approximately 0.75 sec.  

  

| Overload B (R) 

- Improved so roll can be performed before firing the last shot of Explosive Slugfest.  

Decreased the damage of Explosive Slugfest while using Overload B by 15%.

[Dev Note] 

 In the case of Tantu, the reload requirement and movements were frustrating, but this is offset by Tantu's special skill (Explosive Slugfest), which made him a rather powerful hero. Tantu was thus a situational hero with limited use and was also a difficult hero to play. As a result, we reduced Tantu's Explosive Slugfest damage while increasing his overall base stats to so he could be played more versatile.  

  

  

| Helix Slash A (E) 
- Increased damage of skill by approximately 12%.  

 

| Helix Slash B (E 
- Increased damage of skill by approximately 23%.  
 

 

  

| Shining Light B (E) 

-  Fixed the issue where the view would rotate while casting skill and presing W+A or W+D.  

- Improved so camera view could freely rotate before shooting light.  

- Fixed the issue of an awkward buff icon appearing after using skill.  

 

 

■ Content 

  

Improved the default setting of the Dye window.  

Interchanged the buff icons of the Mountain Stoneback Crab and the River Stoneback Crab.  

Changed the icons of Mastery Booster and Silver Booster. 

Fixed the issue where the Tree Spirit's HP recovery effect did not apply if a defense skill was used at the time the heal is applied. 

 

| Blackstar Fragment 

- Fixed the issue where the charging sound of the last gauge sounded abnormal upon obtaining a level 3 Blackstar Fragment.  

Fixed the issue where the gauge bar would remain if Level 3 Blackstar Fragment is deactivated while it was being activated. 

 

| Blackstar Beacon 

- Weakened the sound and effect of an activated Blackstar Beacon while on standby.  
Improved the animation of Blackstar Fragments being generated at a specific location when players approach the Beacon.  

Changed so the descriptive text for Blackstar Beacon generating Fragments is more detailed.  

- Improved so that the text that appears after the Blackstar Beacon has finished creating Blackstar Fragments last longer. 

Fixed the issue where the Level 3 Blackstar Beacon remained at a fixed activating location when the Last Fog location was at the center of the Shrine.  
Fixed the issue where the vision range buff was not applied when skills were used while passing the Blackstar Beacon. 

 

| Shop (B)  

Fixed the issue where scroll would not be displayed within the Shop(B).  

Fixed the issue where the background would move awkwardly when scrolling.  

Fixed so the placement and size of Item Slots fit accordingly.  
Changed so that when selling consumable itemsyou can acquire 50% Tokens of the purchase price.
